Shape.host

From cloud hosting to independent server benchmarks.

Shape.host previously operated a cloud and VPS hosting service. That service has closed. The site now publishes practical infrastructure guides and reviewed server benchmark reports.

What we are building

The platform brings workload comparisons, complete benchmark reports and an open-source testing agent together. The aim is to help readers inspect how a server was tested and decide whether those conditions match their own workload.

What the numbers mean today

The directory holds 129 reviewed reports from Akamai (Linode), DigitalOcean, Hetzner and Vultr, tested 17–18 October 2026 in 9 locations, with three separate deployments for each available plan and location. Each report is one deployment measured during a short pilot window. It is useful for comparing matched plans, but it is not a provider ranking, a 24-hour consistency study or a guarantee of future performance.

Every report received AI-assisted evidence review under user-delegated authorization and lists its own limitations. New submissions stay private until the exact report revision is approved. Each plan shows its list price from the provider’s catalog on the test date, before tax and in the provider’s own currency.

Our approach to evidence

A useful report identifies the server, region, configuration, tools and test settings. Failed, skipped and missing tests remain visible. A result from one instance is not a guarantee of a provider’s performance, availability or every customer’s experience.

The technical archive

Our tutorial library retains the original article URLs and publication dates. Older guides may describe the former hosting service or software versions that have since changed. Keeping an article available does not mean that every command has been retested on current systems.

Corrections and independence

Send factual errors, broken commands or missing context through the contact page, including the article or report URL. Any future commercial relationship relevant to a recommendation should be disclosed alongside it. The methodology explains the review and publication process, and the changelog records each published batch.
