Run the test.
Keep the evidence.
A bounded, MIT-licensed runner for environment detection, workload preparation, local reports, and private submission.
One report. The whole workload.
The agent detects supported provider metadata and the local environment, prepares required tools, executes workloads sequentially, and preserves a local report with raw outputs. Unknown provider, location, or plan fields remain explicit.
The report includes CPU, memory, disk, network, PostgreSQL, per-test status, exact versions, and errors. A skipped or failed workload is never turned into a zero measurement.
Understand the work first.
The initial target is a disposable Ubuntu 24.04 x86-64 or ARM64 VM with 2–16 GiB RAM. The pilot normally takes 10–60 minutes and requires 3 × effective RAM + 4 GiB free disk. Installation uses sudo; workloads run without root. Inspect the dry run before starting.
Disk tests use a dedicated 2 GiB file. PostgreSQL 16 runs in an isolated per-run cluster. At most two operator-controlled network endpoints are allowed, with 64 MiB per direction per endpoint and a 100 Mbit/s rate cap. Missing endpoints remain visibly skipped.

./install.sh
shapehost-agent --version
shapehost-agent run --dry-run
shapehost-agent run --profile pilot --output ./report-01 --local-onlyThe installer prepares Python, sysbench, fio, iperf3, PostgreSQL/pgbench, gzip, ping, and util-linux. It records resolved package versions. Preserve the reviewed package lock across a comparison cohort.
The pilot measures memory read/write; copy remains deferred. PostgreSQL reports average latency; it does not claim a p95 distribution. Use the separately selected consistency-24h profile for the hourly observation schedule. The site’s proposed methodology describes a broader campaign than this pilot.
shapehost-agent inspect ./report-01/report.json
shapehost-agent submit ./report-01/report.json
shapehost-agent run --profile pilot --output ./report-01 --resumeUse the same profile and endpoints when resuming. Completed or submitted reports cannot resume; use submit to retry an upload. The archive includes operating instructions, parser/schema definitions, detector sources, contributing guidance, and security reporting documentation.
Understand the test profileSubmitted means private.
A configured upload-only credential allows automatic submission after the local report is complete. Keep the local evidence if an upload fails; retrying must not require another benchmark run.
Server validation checks payloads and evidence, then queues the revision for manual review. The agent cannot approve or publish. An administrator inspects all categories and explicitly approves the exact revision before it becomes public.
Repeated submissions of one deployment cannot increase the number of independent samples. External submissions keep their provenance and are not silently merged into a controlled first-party cohort.
